The last day of astronomical summer before the autumnal equinox.

Spotted:
A few house martins soaring and swooping over the trees and around the castle walls, catching the last flies of summer.

A walk around the rampart wall:

Looking out through the crenellations of the rampart wall creates a sort of reversed zoetrope effect (an eporteoz?!):
